The number of UK residents forced to insolvency in the third quarter of the year rose 28 percent year over year to 35,242 personal insolvencies. Part of the increase can be attributed to the introduction earlier in the year of Debt Relief Orders, a cheaper form of bankruptcy intended for people with lower incomes.
