Stock futures suggest a slight increase in the markets today as the Federal Reserve is scheduled to release its interest rate statement. The expectation is that the Fed will maintain the current record low rates.
Pundits will be watching closely however, for any signals from the Fed for when they expect to increase rates as growth returns to the economy. The Fed continues to say that inflation is not an immediate concern, but once growth reaches a certain threshold, most market watchers expect the Fed to act quickly to move interest rates higher.
