Requests for US unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week to a three-month low of 445,000. This is a decline of 11,000 from the previous week beating expectations by 10,000. The results suggest that the pace of lay-offs has slowed, but new jobs are not being created quickly enough to fill the gap.
