Not Much Expected from Asian Equities

Asian stocks appear set for a cautious start on Thursday, following a weak lead from Wall Street and as investors seek fresh policy cues from a meeting of China’s legislature.

China’s National People’s Congress kicks off at 0900 SIN/HK. Investors will watch for comments on economic targets for 2015 and whether authorities will roll out further easing measures.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index could open flat after stock futures in Chicago and Osaka traded at 18,705 and 18,690, compared with the benchmark index’s previous close of 18,703.
