This week, U.S. Interest rates are still rising as we get closer to a decision on the new Chairperson of the Federal Reserve. Gold continues to be under pressure, but is this picture reflect with other precious metals?
Copper is on a roll as China growth and a non-event People’s Congress sees Chinese retail pile into base metals.
Over in energy, natural gas continues to range but is drifting higher as winter approaches. Oil treads water with the Commitment of Trader’s report showing very heavy long positioning. We may need some new developments in oil markets to give crude fresh legs.
The softs remain becalmed this week with range trading the order of the day in the bigger picture, despite some impressive intra-day gains during the week. Overall though, the agricultural commodities are still in “bring a good book to read” mode.
