Spain’s number of jobless rose by 1.5 percent in November from a month earlier, or by 74,296 people, leaving 4.9 million people out of work, data from the Labor Ministry showed on Tuesday.
November marked the fourth straight rise in the number of people registered as unemployed in Spain.
Monthly jobless data records the number of Spaniards registered as out of work, while the unemployment rate, which hit a record high of 25 percent in the third quarter, is an official survey and considered a more reliable gauge of the job market.
